The following exemplar PEPs have been developed by the Virtual School to support Designated Teachers, Social Workers and Carers.

Amihr is 4 years old and is currently attending nursery and will be transitioning to Primary School next September. He enjoys dancing, playing in the mud kitchen, being outside as well as baking cakes. His attendance has been impacted by being poorly with chicken pox and missing a week of nursery. He can understand stories read in both Pashto and English and is learning to speak both languages. Amihr came into care in October 2024 and is currently placed with Carers who he is expected to stay with.

Rosie is a Year 2 child who attends an area special school. She has an EHCP and diagnosis of global developmental delay. Rosie has been in care for just a few months, she is happy and settled with her carer Denise and enjoys going to school.

Sienna is a Year 4 child attending a mainstream primary school. She does not have any identified SEND needs but is a low attainer. Sienna has been in care for most of her life, since she was 1 year old. In the past two years, Sienna has had 3 placement breakdowns following an adoption placement breakdown.

Riley is a Year 8 child attending a mainstream school. He does not enjoy school; has low attendance and a high number of suspensions to date. Riley has been in care for almost four years, having had several foster care placements. He recently moved to a residential children's home.

Oscar is in Year 10 at a mainstream school. He enjoys school and is doing well however he has a pattern of low attendance on Mondays and Fridays linked to family times. Oscar is studying for GCSEs and requires support in English. He has been in care for almost two years, residing with his siblings with the same foster carer. It is expected that his current living arrangements will remain constant.

Chelsee is a Year 12 student attending college. Chelsee is enrolled onto a Level 2 Hairdressing Course and is making good progress. Chelsee is re-taking her GCSE English and Maths and aims to progress onto the Level 3 Hairdressing Course.
