Peterborough City Council’s Education Directorate's "Leadership for Belonging" is a strategic programme aimed at fostering inclusive school cultures where every child feels valued and supported to achieve their best educational outcomes.
It is part of Children's Services' wider Family Valued agenda in which:
-
* the whole community is responsible and responsive
-
* there is an inclusive and equitable culture
-
* relationships are put first
-
* all stakeholders know and understand their children and young people well
-
* behaviour is viewed as communication
Through the development of belonging and inclusive cultures, all children and young people in Peterborough will achieve aspirational educational outcomes.

Belonging is the extent to which children and young people feel accepted, respected, included, valued and supported. It goes beyond the physical presence and focuses on emotional and social connection.
